The concept of a marble cake is also used in political science as a metaphor for cooperative federalism. It was coined by Morton Grodzins, a professor of Social Political studies at the University of Chicago . Political science is a social science concerned with the theory and practice of politics and the description and analysis of political systems and political behavior. Cooperative federalism is a concept of federalism in which national, state, and local governments interact cooperatively and collectively to solve common problems, rather than making policies separately but more or less equally or clashing over a policy in a system dominated by the national government. It may also be imply over a federation formed by the amalgamation of several states. In many ways, it may even reflect us Malaysia , a federation of 14 states that had come together on the 31st of August 1957 and had agreed upon by the consent of our Malay Kings, to form this country we named Malaysia and home to all of us. A good marble cake may signify unity, cooperation, synergy, unification and tolerance under one. Well at least in the eyes of a kitchen political analyst it may be the case :)
